Commercial General Liability (CGL)

Commercial general liability insurance (known as “CGL” insurance) is designed to cover claims associated with personal injury or property damage.

Construction defect claims oftentimes trigger a claim against contractor, subcontractor, or suppliers CGL policy.

If you are a contractor, subcontractor, or supplier that are notified of a construction defect, please make sure to consult counsel to ensure your CGL insurer is notified and you are protected from the standpoint of the insurer’s duties to defend and indemnify you in connection with the construction defect claim.
